Jesse H. Starkman
Jesse H. Starkman brings to Re-Juv a long and successful career as a Cosmetic Formulation Design Chemist. Prior to beginning his career in the Cosmetic industry, he was a Research Assistant at the Skin & Cancer Clinic at the Bellevue Medical Center of New York dealing with studies of allergies and skin cancers. Following the publication of the project results in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Jesse began his industrial career at Kolar Laboratories, Chicago.
He was recruited by the Gillette Company in Boston to improve the quality and fragrance of the first commercial aerosol deodorant, Right Guard, and to expand the line of Personal Care Products. He was then hired by the Helena Rubenstein Corp as Director of International Research & Development Division, covering 29 countries throughout the world. Following the sale of HR, he began his Consulting practice to the Cosmetic and Pharmaceutical industries worldwide, numbering among his clients, both large and small, Revlon, Unilever, Alberto Culver, McKesson Drug, Ciba-Geigy and others.
Jesse received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology at the City College of New York followed by his Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at Newark College of Engineering, New Jersey.
He was President and Emeritus Member of the American National Society of Cosmetic Chemists, Ex-Chairman of the Midwest Chapter (Chicago), founder and first Chairman of the New England Chapter, Affiliate Member of the American Academy of Dermatology, member of the American Marketing Association and of the American Chemical Society. He was an Adjunct Professor at Roosevelt University, Chicago, and at St. Thomas University where he taught graduate students for four years.
He has learned and continues to learn to utilize old and new concepts, as well as natural and synthetic materials, all for designing and formulating safe and effective personal care skin and hair products for women and men.
